1994 Flair Series 1 Baseball Wax Box Opening – PSA 10 Hunting with The Card Grading King
Hey folks, I'm Todd, The Card Grading King. In this video, I open a 1994 Flair Series 1 Baseball wax box that I purchased on eBay for approximately $52 delivered. My goal is simple: find PSA 10 candidates and determine whether this box contains enough value to justify the purchase price.
I've been grading cards for several years and have submitted thousands of cards. The thrill of hunting for Gem Mint cards is what drives me. That's also why I created Gem10.com, where I offer card centering tools and card leveling tools designed to help collectors make smarter grading decisions.
The 1994 Flair Series 1 Baseball set contains 200 base cards and several insert sets, including Wave of the Future, Outfield Power, and Hot Numbers. Some of the most desirable players in the set include Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, Cal Ripken Jr., Bo Jackson, Ryne Sandberg, Greg Maddux, Barry Bonds, Kirby Puckett, Mark McGwire, and Carlos Delgado.
One of the things I love about Flair products is the packaging. These cards are protected by multiple layers of packaging and high-quality production standards. Despite the high-gloss surfaces, I've had excellent luck with Flair products over the years and rarely encounter sticking or bricking issues that sometimes affect other premium 1990s releases.
As I worked through the box, I found several strong insert packs. One Wave of the Future pack contained Carlos Delgado, Mark McGwire, and Ken Griffey Jr. Another included Carlos Delgado, Barry Larkin, and Bo Jackson. I also found a Wave of the Future pack with Cal Ripken Jr., Ryne Sandberg, and Greg Maddux.
The Outfield Power inserts were also productive. I pulled multiple Barry Bonds cards, a Kirby Puckett, and a beautiful Ken Griffey Jr. Outfield Power insert that appears to have excellent grading potential.
After opening the box, I sleeved the cards and evaluated them under bright lighting with and without magnification. Based on my initial inspection, I believe two Carlos Delgado Wave of the Future cards have strong PSA 10 potential. Both Ken Griffey Jr. cards also appear promising. One of the Cal Ripken Jr. inserts looks like a potential Gem Mint candidate as well.
Overall, I was very pleased with this box. Considering the low purchase price, it only takes a handful of PSA 10 grades to create a profitable outcome. The combination of strong stars, attractive inserts, solid gem rates, and excellent card condition makes 1994 Flair Series 1 a set worth considering for grading-focused collectors.
